Imazu Bay Flamingo Sunset Café Row
Along the Imazu Bay coastline of Itoshima, a loose collection of surf cafés, beach bars, and open-air restaurants has emerged over the past decade facing directly west across the Genkai Sea. The establishments — most in repurposed beach shacks or shipping containers — open from midday and stay until the last sunset light fades. The sea-facing orientation is deliberate: Itoshima's sunsets, unobstructed by anything between the coast and the Korean coast 200 km away, are among the most dramatic in Kyushu.
