Nagasaki Ropeway Night View to Mt. Inasa
The Nagasaki Ropeway, rebuilt in 2020 with new larger cabins, is the definitive way to experience the Mt. Inasa night view. The 5-minute ascent transitions from street-level Nagasaki through the dark forested slopes to the sudden emergence at the summit observation platform 333m above the city. The cabin windows allow 360-degree viewing during ascent β the city lights appear gradually as you rise through the trees.
The ropeway operates until 22:00, and the last ascent (21:50) is typically the least crowded. The new cabins hold 40 people but maintain glass floor sections for looking directly down during transit β an unsettling experience that enhances the altitude awareness.
