Hanamiyama Park (花見山公園, 'Flower Viewing Mountain Park') is a privately-owned hillside park where ornamental flower farmers have cultivated cherry trees, plum trees, peach blossoms, forsythia, and flowering magnolias across sloping terraces, creating one of Tohoku's most spectacular spring flower displays. The park was opened to the public for free in 1959 by farmer Abe Isomatsu, who believed the beauty should be shared. Unlike mono-species cherry blossom spots, Hanamiyama layers multiple flower types — pink Somei-Yoshino cherries, white plum blossoms, yellow forsythia, and red peach flowers — blooming simultaneously in late March through mid-April, creating a kaleidoscope hillside visible for miles.

The main walking loop (30 minutes) circles the hillside terraces with multiple overlook points providing views of the layered flowers with Fukushima City and surrounding mountains as backdrop. Early morning light (6:00–8:00) illuminates the blossoms from the east, and photographers consider Hanamiyama one of Japan's premier flower photography locations. The park's name translates to 'Flower Viewing Mountain,' but locals call it 'Fukushima's Shangri-La' for its paradise-like appearance during peak bloom.
