Myoban Onsen — Yunohana Sulfur Huts

Myoban Onsen is a hot spring district on Beppu's western hillside famous for yunohana (湯の花, 'hot spring flowers') — crystallized sulfur and minerals harvested from traditional thatched-roof huts. The yunohana is packaged as bath salts, allowing anyone to recreate Beppu's sulfur onsen at home.

The hut field creates a photogenic landscape — dozens of pointed thatched roofs on a hillside emitting steam.
